Purpose of DTS EF GATE CONTACT S/POLE
A single-pole (S/POLE) gate contact provides a reliable electrical connection across a swinging or sliding gate where the electric fence wiring needs to continue without interruption. It ensures the electric fence circuit remains live even when the gate opens or closes. -
How it works:
-
Mounted on the gate and gate post.
-
As the gate closes, the spring-loaded contact (often brass or stainless steel) touches the fixed contact plate, completing the circuit.
-
When the gate opens, the connection safely breaks.
-
-
Applications:
-
Common in electric fencing (DTS, Nemtek, JVA, etc.).
-
Used on single-leaf gates where only one live connection is required (hence single pole).
-
If both live and earth connections are needed, a double-pole (D/POLE) contact is typically used.
-
-
Advantages:
-
Maintains security integrity — no “dead zone” in the fence.
-
Durable and weather-resistant (usually made for outdoor use).
-
Simple installation and low maintenance.
